1215 - Signing of the Magna Carta

1789 - Beginning of the French Revolution
1865 - Ending of Civil War in America
1918 - Ending of WWI
1945 - Ending of WWII / Formation of UN
1963 - Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I have a Dream" speech.
1989 - Fall of Berlin Wall
1991 - Collapse of USSR
2009 - Obama becomes first African-American President in America

People: (I only included people who have passed away)
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. - an iconic figure in civil rights in the United States and around the world. He used non-violent methods, just like Mohandes Gandhi.
Abraham Lincoln -  the 16th president of America, he helped keep America united and abolished slavery
Harriet Tubman ( Araminta Ross) - after she escaped from the South was no longer a slave, she went on 13 missions and rescued over 70 slaves.
Rosa Parks -  often called the "Mother of the Freedom Movement", she is most famous for refusing to give up her seat to white passenger on a bus, which led to the Montgomery Bus Boycott. This helped to increase awareness of freedom of rights in America.
George Washington - the first president of America, he helped liberate America from British rule.
Thomas Jefferson - One of the Founding Fathers and the 3rd president of America. Also he was one of the main authors of the Declaration of Independence.

Jesus Christ - whether you believe he was the son of God or not, he is a great teacher and taught everyone only about good things. 
Mohandes K. Gandhi - helped liberate India from British rule by using non-violent protest which influenced many people after him.
