Detox - Dr. Dre: When will it be released?

When will Detox be released? If it ever will, then Detox might hold the record for most re-done album ever. Dr Dre actually said that he recorded over a 100 songs for the album, all of which have been cut. They didn't get cut because they were bad. They were... to tell you the truth, I have no idea why Dr Dre cut them.

Here are a few songs intended to be on Detox. Of course, this list is always growing so check back.

 Detox Tracks
1. I Need a Doctor ft. Eminem, Skylar Grey
Status: Cut from Album
I Need a Doctor is a great song. I have no idea why Dr Dre would cut it from Detox. Everything was there. The beat, lyrics, and a great video. Too bad it won't be on Detox.

2. Kush ft. Snoop Dogg, Akon
Status: Cut from Album
Kush is probably one of my top 3 Dr Dre songs of all time. And that's a big deal. I love the beat. Dre, Snoop, and Akon are all great on the track. Why would it be cut from Detox? Dre, what are you doing?

3. Under Pressure ft. Jay-Z
Status: Cut from Album
Just because it was leaked. A great song like this has been cut from Detox, just because it was leaked a little too early. This song is amazing, even in its unfinished, leaked, version. Stop being such a perfectionist Dr Dre.

4. The Psycho ft. Eminem, 50 cent
Status: Cut from Album
Now this song sucked. The Chorus and Beat are really good, but the rest was just horrible. Good thing it got cut, the song was really annoyning.

5.  Die Hard ft. Eminem
Status: ?
Hopefully Dre will keep this track. It's a good song, but nothing compared to Under Pressure, Kush, and I Need a Doctor. I like the Chorus/Hook.

The Martyr LP - Immortal Technique

The Martyr - Immortal Technique

It's not the Middle Passage, but it at least new content from Immortal Technique. It's just a LP, and it's available as a free digital download. The LP is composed previously unreleased and never before heard music from Immortal Technique. It was released on October 27th, 2011, and I recently had a chance to listen to all 16 tracks (13 full-length songs, 2 skits/interludes and even 1 speech).

The LP has a different feel to it compared to other Immortal Technique albums. It's less intellectual, but more high-powered and in your face. Kind of like Violence Begets Violence, the new Jedi Mind Tricks album. At first glance, you might think I just complimented the LP, but I'm not. I don't like where Immortal Technique is going with this. It sounds more average and 2nd-rate. And Immortal Technique's lyrics and more predictable and stale too. Maybe just because it's a LP, though. Hopefully Immortal's next album, The Middle Passage, will sound more like his earlier work.

In the entrie LP, only 2 songs were worth the download, Angels and Demons, and Toast to the Dead.

Angels and Demons is featuring Dead Prez and Bazaar Royale. It is produced by DJ Green Lantern (just like Immortal's last album, the 3rd World). It has a slow and calm tempo, a great chorus ( a sample from I don't know where), and good lyrics.

Toast to the Dead is great too. The beat is produced by the late producer, J Dilla. It also features DJ Green Lantern which produces the chorus with a buch of samples. Toast to the Dead is also really calm and chill. A really good song.

Also, track 16, Sign of the Times is really good too. The lyrics are great, but for whatever reason the drums really annoyed me. If it had a different producer, it could have been far better.

The rest of the LP is uneventful and boring, except the song called Rich Man's World (1%). In the song, it seems like Immortal Technique baically contradicted all of his previous 3 albums. I really didn't like the song.

Overall, the LP, The Martyr, is alright. It's just an LP, so 3 good songs is excusable. But Immortal Technique's next album, the Middle Passage, better be a 1000x better.
