Russia has recently developed its own new 5th generation fighter. It's still a prototype but is scheduled for service in a few years. It's predicted to be on par with the American F-22 in both Air-to-Air and Air-to-Ground Combat. It incorporates stealth technology like internal weapon bays and radar reflective paint. It recently took off for its first flight. China is developing its own 5th generation stealth fighter. The J-20 seems to be larger than both the US F-22 and the Russian PAK-FA. Little is known about it so far. The US also is expecting it's multi-role stealth fighter, the F-35, to come into service in a few years. The Russians also are developing the Mikoyan LMFS, based on the canceled MiG-1.44 design.

Chinese Stealth Fighter J-20
US Stealth Fighter/Bomber F-35
India, Japan and South Korea are also considering to build their own 5th generation stealth fighter.
Only the future can tell which one of these aircraft will be most successful.
